Using FTP Client

Uploading files using FTP Client

These instructions are written specifically for use with the FTP program, Ws_ftp32 LE, but any FTP client may be used with our server. WS_FTP LE is a windows based File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client with a well-designed user interface.

1. Grab a copy of Ws ftp32, a Free FTP client.

2. After it is installed on your PC, open the program by double-clicking on this icon FTP icon

3. You will be presented with this screen

4. Fill out the fields as shown, substituting the "User ID" field with your login ID (the first part of your email address), and the "Password" field with your password. When you have finished, click the save button. When you are ready to login to the server, just click the "OK" button.

It displays two panes, one shows a local system view that displays all drives, directories and files, the other pane displays the directories and files on the remote system. You can select files and click buttons to perform actions such as sort, copy, delete, rename, view, refresh, create directory, change directory, and more. Logon directories, usernames, passwords and other preferences for FTP sites you visit can be saved so that subsequent visits are fast and simple. The program can also be operated using command-line arguments. This self-extracting EXE file includes 16-bit and 32-bit versions, as well as 4-window and 2-window versions.

This program works similar to a file manager program. Where the left window browses your local PC, and the right browses your web directory on our server. You simply copy files between the two windows using the left and right arrows between the two windows. The rest of the functions, creating and deleting directories, renaming files, etc., are accessed via the buttons on the right. The rest of the program is quite straightforward and should be self explanatory. Refer to the documentation distributed with this program for specific questions regarding this program. tlxNet does not support this program, so please do not ask our tech support to help you with it.
